After some last minute rescheduling in conjunction with Oldmeldrum Golf Club and Peterhead Golf Club, we were very fortunate in our visit today to Peterhead. Despite the recent persistent rainfall which had adversely affected Oldmeldrum again (along with many other courses in the area, undoubtedly) we were greeted with flat calm conditions, temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius and a full course apart from two winter greens put in place to counter some standing water on their summer equivalents. After last week’s very short lived and quite unexpected howling banshee that caused abandonment at Strathlene, it was a relief to watch the Peterhead Club Flag remain virtually motionless throughout the day. Well done to all 76 members for taking part and producing some excellent scores. At this time of year with limited daylight, 76 is probably the maximum field that can complete the round in (almost) daylight.
